Mac app or browser QR tool: which fits your task?

A browser tool can be a good choice for one simple QR. A desktop app becomes useful when design control, editable projects and several export formats matter.

Browser does not automatically mean upload

QiFi, for example, creates a Wi-Fi QR in the browser locally. It says credentials are not submitted to a server. Judge the individual tool and its actual data flow rather than assuming every browser generator uploads your information.

Choose for the job

For a basic guest-network code, a focused free tool may be sufficient. FlexiQR on Mac supports URL, text, email, phone, SMS, Wi-Fi and vCard, with colors, shapes, logos and saved projects. PNG, JPEG, SVG and PDF exports support different handoffs.

Consider where the file goes next

If you work in a compatible design app, copying SVG from FlexiQR can reduce file-dialog steps. If you only need one simple code, installing another app may not add much value. Both workflows still require testing the final print.

Know the limits

FlexiQR makes static codes. It does not host destinations, offer dynamic redirect editing, track scans or generate CSV batches. Windows is in development. Compare the Mac App Store price and Pro plans with the work you actually need to do.
